Fluid Deflection Technologies is a privately owned company specializing in design of Jet Nozzles for Oilfield Drill Bits. The company is owned by Winton Dickey, who also serves as President. Mr. Dickey has 27 years experience with Oilfield Drill Bits. He has worked for Smith Tool and is currently a distributor for Security/DBS, a Halliburton Company. In 1997 he received his first patent for a Sideport Nozzle for Three Cone Rock Bits. Since then two more patents have followed; a Sideport Nozzle for Poycrystalline Diamond Compact Bits and a Multiport Center Jet for Three Cone Bits.
No company comes close to the experience of FDT in the deflection of Drilling Mud. Using patented internal geometry with such technologies as "Non-plugging Jets" FDT is at the forefront of fluid deflection. FDT also has many years invested in the improvement of Carbide Grades used to deflect Drilling Mud.
After thousands of runs, no bit has ever been pulled due to failure of an FDT product.
